More Info

The economic impact of events is well recognised. However, the events industry is notoriously difficult due to lack of innovation and education infrastructure. Formal event industry education was only introduced in the nineties. The Australian events industry is particularly disadvantaged when dealing with international markets due to our size, geographic location and population.

We can convert our disadvantage into an opportunity if we adopt and invest in innovation across the broader event industry ecosystem.

The Events Horizon explores the following key areas.

  • The economic and social impact of events

  • What supporting the rapidly growing E-Sport sector could mean for Australia

  • How regional Australia can stimulate their economies and create jobs through events

  • How technology can be used to address the cause of event failures

  • Creating better work experience opportunities and learning experiences for music and event industry students
